Fernandez has helped to lead the fight against childhood obesity across the state. She blogs about the topic every other Friday. Fernandez is a board member of Live Well Omaha Kids, a community coalition; an associate professor of pediatrics at Creighton University’s School of Medicine; and associate director of a joint pediatric residency program between Creighton and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
